Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The whole world might be all going to see the first half of the final Harry Potter film tomorrow, but before that catch a few clips from the film that you won’t have seen before! The clips include a lot of magic and a lot of arguments.

This is turning out to look like quite a good film-maybe the best one of the lot

Skyline-movie clips

I hope everyone isn’t bored of twinkly lights in the sky after 5th November. Here are some more clips from soon to be released alien invasion movie ‘Skyline’. It certainly seems that this film is going to have all the trimmings with the CGI, action scenes and explosions.

Skyline

The trailer tries not to give much away, but I have found out that the premise is that aliens have recieved the messages we have been sending into space over the last few decades. Upon receiving these messages they have come to investigate and obviously bing bigger guns than we have. They then use these blue beams that attract humans (hence the tag line ‘Don’t look up’) to them in the same way insects are attracted to light bulbs. Once the humans touch the blue light they disappear. The film is due out for Uk release on 12th November

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Since I know everyone seems to love everything to do with Harry Potter I have been trolling the internet to find some more clips to sedate the hunger for it. Here is a very sweet clip I found that not only has a few new scenes, but also interviews with the cast and crew as well as a montage of all the old films. It is amazing how young they all use to look!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It is finally here, the end to a movie saga that has spanned most of our adolescence. With the books finishing a few years ago, the last two films are the final parts of the Harry Potter franchise.

It is hard to tell from the advert whether it will be a good film, since often the adverts can be very misleading. In fact most of the time I feel the adverts for Harry Potter make the films look a lot more exciting that they actually are. Saying that I remember reading the book and thinking it would make a very good film so it might be that the final parts are the jewels in the crown. There has clearly been a lot of work done on the special effects and action scenes-which were the best bit of the past few films.

The first part of the final book is out 19th November while the second part is out on the 15th July 2011. It is quite difficult to tell which scenes come from which part of the movie, but I have heard a rumor that the first movie will be do with all the bits before Hogwarts and the second one will be all set in Hogwarts.

Flipped

I am really excited about a new movie out this November (12th November to be precise) called ‘Flipped’

Set in the idyllic culdesac America the film looks like it will be cute, twee coming of age story with cute characters and some clever writing, and is the latest project  by ‘Stand By Me’ director Rob Reiner. It is also a love story with a his & hers perspective style of story telling which I think will give an extra bit of depth and chance for comedy.

The American

Here is a film I just went to see yesterday. Nothing can be put up till closer to the release date, but here is something to get interested in.

The film is about an American (obviously), played by George Clooney, who makes guns on request from assassins. After becoming a target himself he goes to hide in a small Italian village until it all blows here. While he meets a variety of locals including a priest (Paolo Bonacelli) and a prostitute (Violante Placido). The is directer by photographer turned director Anton Corbijn and is out 26th November.

Let Me In

Everywhere you go now a days you see pearly white fangs! It first happened to dragons and then witches and wizards and now vampires have become the new fictional cash cows. Thanks to shows such as ‘Tru Blood’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries’ we have been shown how sexy drinking blood can be; whole films like the Twilight Saga show us how we can love them. I am surprised there are no media-hungry ceblebreities who are filing down their canine teeth! ‘Let Me In’ shows us that we should in fact fear vampires and gives a more realistic view on them then any previous cashing in.

Owen (Kodi Smith McPhee from The Road) is a social out cast at his school, with few friends and lots of bullies. His loneliness causes him to form a bond with the secretive Abbey ( Chloe Moretz who played Hit Girl in Kick Ass) who has recently moved in next door to him. About the same time this happens a string of grisly murders occur where the bodies are all drained of blood. Own begins to realise that this is all done by Chloe; she is a vampire and kills to live.

Originally a Swedish film called ‘Let The Right One In’, it will be interesting to see if Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) can demonstrate that Hollywood doesn’t make empty soulless remakes. On October 29th we will see if ‘Let Me In’ is a successful remake like ‘The Departed’ or a hallow shell of the original like ‘The Grudge’.

Until then here are some other clips you can sink your teeth into.
